The only reason Vlad has remained my main is due to the hypercarry potential late after 3+ items. If you're losing lane/early against Vlad, he is either way better than you and deserves the win anyway, or you are way worse than the average player at your elo so you need to go down anyway so you can relearn fundamentals.
